Al Hayar Farms Community is a new livestock farmstead development located of the main road between Dubai and Al Ain, and it reflects the planning strategy of the Environment Agency. The community will provide 2000 livestock farmsteads with high quality facilities that will increase productivity levels incorporating the highest standard of veterinary science, animal welfare and biosecurity.

The project includes all the supporting services such as; Dairy Farm Plant, Slaughterhouse, Meat Processing Plant, staff accommodation, Treatment Plant for renewable energy. As well there will the Heritage Village as a traditional cultural area including restaurants, retail shops, mosque that will be integrated into the settlements to provide a cultural infrastructure. The masterplan will be developed to create a landscape framework for the site with series of ecological and movement corridors. Sustainability is a key element in the design aspect, farmsteads will be built of renewable materials and will consider minimal impact on local environment whilst providing financial income for the region. These will be structured using traditional Bedouin housing types, adapted to the 21st century. A series of views will connect key elements of the farmsteads providing owners with views of the corals and desert, whilst workers housing will provide visual security for the settlement. The development is to respect the custom and heritage of the area and to create the potential for local tourism. As well there is the potential for the site to become an exemplar for environmental restoration where the landscape is enhanced, biodiversity restored and the local cultural and community assets nurtured.
