JOB TITLE: ASSOCIATE - ABU DHABI

Work with the Directors and Associate Directors in maintaining and developing the strategy and ethos of the Practice to ensure its continuing success, and managing those under their control to ensure that the Practice is successful and profitable and to meet the targets set out in the Business Plan. The candidate will regularly attend Associates Meetings in order to report on work in progress and take on responsibilities in respect of managing the Practice, maintaining design and technical standards by joining appropriate specialist groups.

Take responsibility for an appropriate number of projects and other tasks as directed by the Directors and Associate Directors, and programme projects under their control in consultation with the Associate Director including setting staff day targets, advising on staff requirements and ensuring that the targets set in those programmes are met.

They will regularly monitor and keep Associate Directors aware of progress on their projects, be aware of impending problems and of any factors which mean that targets will not be met and suggest and implement appropriate action as agreed and ensure that the relevant skills necessary for the project are available and consult with others in the Practice who may have relevant knowledge and skills.

It is essential that the candidate possesses leadership traits to provide leadership to the team for whom they are responsible, in respect of design, technical, management and commercial matters and organisational skills to ensure that the staff working on their projects are working hard and efficiently, recognise where staff are not doing so and take appropriate action.

They will hold regular meetings to ensure a harmonious working relationship within the team and to regularly reaffirm objectives, monitor progress, revise targets as necessary, identify problems, admonish and praise as appropriate and ensure a continuing will to succeed and to meet established targets, and report regularly to the Associate Directors on the performance of staff under their control. In full consultation with the Associate Director issue warnings to staff in respect of their non performance.
